An umbo is placed in the center of the shield. They allow the fighter to place his hand and protect it during fights. In addition, its shape made it possible to deflect arrows fired by enemy archers. Four rivets are provided allowing you to securely attach your umbo to your Viking shield. Note that to attach your umbo to a wooden shield, we recommend using nails instead.
